Big Thank-You to my Sister, Brother in-law, and my Arlo for hunting the crabs out of the Puget Sound! They were lucky enough to pull nine Red Rock Crabs off of Ketron Island this Sunday.

Clay Pot Chicken

For some reason, any meal that comes with a "sauce" seems extra fancy to me. Sauce comes from resturaunts, where sous chefs can spend time laboring and balancing out a delicate saucy accompaniment. It always seems like a step too far for a weeknight meal. The Clay Pot Chicken came together great, and I was happily surprised at how easy it was! The sauce, included.

Beef Bourguignon is Arlo-approved! While this meal was not the most appropriate selection for a warm spring night, it sure was delicious.

Chicken Tetrazini

Chicken Tetrazini is a dish that sounds just so fancy! I followed this recipe to the letter. In Jean's cookbook, this dish is noted as being a dish served in Dore Schary's Mother's catering establishment.
Braised Lamb Shanks

Lamb is not in my regular rotation of proteins, but this dish was a rich and decadent treat. You could easily do this one in a rush, maybe even throw it in a crock pot. But, I took my time with it, and was well rewarded. We served it up with some mashed cauliflower and a green salad, I've seen similar recipes served up with mashed potatoes or polenta. There was a lot of braising liquid leftover that would make a tasty gravy, if you would like!
