Grandma's Chocolate Pudding

Grandma's Chocolate Pudding
Man, homemade pudding sure doesn't hold a candle to the instant stuff.
This is my first time making pudding, and I really liked it! Here it is on Debbie's beautiful tablescape. We served with strawberries, and whipped cream. I made this ahead and chilled it in the refrigerator. Don;t forget to put some plastic wrap or covering directly on the pudding. That helps it to avoid the "skin" that can develop on dairy desserts.

Ingredients:

3 and 3/4 cup milk
3 rounded TBSP sugar
3 rounded TBSP corn starch
3 rounded TBSP chocolate or cocoa
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:

Scald three cups of the milk. Mix the remaining milk with sugar, corn starch, and cocoa. Add to scalded milk, mix or stir in double boiler until thickened. Boil for 1/2 hour.

Most if it's thickening takes place during cooling. Serve with whipped cream.
